    GuildWars - insights
I've gotten numerous insights by now.
let me share my knowledge a bit:

    - money comes faster and faster, starting from Lions Arch. by the time you are getting to the later missions, it starts to flow quite hard.
    - add good players to your friendslist. this list is ever so handy. in later missions, teamwork is of essence. A single idiot can get you all killed. and you can use this list after doing all missions to do secondary objectives that you still want to do, as well as having a pool of people you can ask /help yourself with acquiring items and runes.
    - runes are upgrades. a minor rune gives a small bonus (+1) with no penalty. major(+2) and superior(+3) runes give bigger bonuses but with a health penalty (-50 & -75). A vigor rune can give you a health bonus (30-40-50). but don't go mad with all superior runes, because it isn't worth the healthloss.
    basic value: minor: +- 350 gp, major +- 2100, superior 5-6k
    - inventory is always to short. you can max out your inventory by using runes of holding a bit on your bags. but one vital thing is opening a Xunai account, a sort of storage.
    - doing missions brigns you quickest way further to new places.
    - dye can be used to paint armor/weapons. you can mix your dye by using one dye on another. Black dye is worht a lot of money (2000-3000 now), followed by silver and red ( a few hundered both).
    - do not agro everything. stealth is often key in player vs environment.
    - your monk is not there to save your butt. he helps you to perform it. don't get yourself in a lot of heat just to stress your monk.
    - always check the item you are trading for before closing a deal. scammers are around
    - stay togheter as a team always
    - attack same target always as a team. in pvp, the attackorder should ideally be:
    monk-->mesmer-->elementist-->necro-->warrior-->ranger
    - find a guild that lives in your timezone. that way you can get the most out of it. be carefull in picking your guild. if you pick the wrong guild, no worries. you can always leave your guild any time.
    - 2 terms are used often: searing and ascension.
searing: the event that seperates the starting (training) world and the real world. once you leave the starting world, you can't go back there.
ascension: in the desert, you can 'ascend' to hero by doing 3 missions. after these 3 missions, you must win a mirror match against yourself and then you have ascended. by doing so, you can continu the story. (and have proven to be a player that doesn't entirely suck, because the missions are not easy)
    - from the Temple of the Ages, you can get to 2 new areas: the underworld and another high level area. these areas are advised to only enter when lvl 20, because they are hard. REALLY hard. the underworld is insane. the other one is less hard, but still really hard. you can enter them by praying to statue of god (grenth for underworld, and forgot the other one...) and paying 1000 when your worldpart (either Korea, VS or europe) has won the Hall of Heroes. you will see messages apperaing frequently in your screen '.... has the favor of the gods' which will indicate this.
    - The hall of heroes is a pvp battlezone where you can come by winning 8 times (assumed) in Tomb of the Ancient Kings.
    - Celsstial Sigil is an item that unlocks a Guild Hall for your guild. for that reason, everyone seems to hunt it. prices are insane now, but are expected to drop soon.
    - you can change your secondary profesion after ascencion anytime by doing a quest. this is a great way of resetting some spend attributepoints in your secondary class.
    - unlocking skills is quite a laboursome job. especially elite skills, which you must capture from bosses. you can capture them with a capture signet, whihc you can get by doing a quest from Magi in Lion's Arch
    - be carefull in byuing skills, because they become more expensive each time. buy what you really need, nothing more i would advise.

    Guild Wars
after discussing the grand program OCTGN, located at http://www.cardfloppers.com ,
i want to discuss another one:

    Guild Wars.

this is one nice little online RPG. Some remember World of War maybe. WoW was lost due to 'ganking'. Ganking is the killing of other players. WoW has an 'honor system', a system that gives bonuses for killing other players. Bad mistake. The game became a land with raiding groups. Altough the bonuses didn't count for lower level players, it still effected the game heavily.

GW doesn't have this system. In fact, you hardly can't be attacked by other players, unless you step in one of the arena's yourself. In PvE, you get a private piece of world for you and your team. if you like PvP action, you can make a character right away. But you can't enter the PvE missions, since your character is all fired up to go, so i've been told. if you like PvE action, you can build up your character and also compete in PvP. The game is build up in proffessions like AD&D: ranger, warrior, elementist, monk, necromancer and mesmer. you can choose a primary and secondary proffession. The game is pretty nicely balanced. Confusing for most is the 'pre searing' and 'post searing' system. the 'pre' is basicly the training world. you move around do your thing. once you leave it for the real world (post), you can't go back to pre.

Some personal blunders to spice up the story:
I must say i browse forums to prevent myself from making grand blunders, like I read from others. And having played in the world preview event helped me also here. Still a few minor ones:
    - trying to make a stone elemental bleed is kind of hard. duh.
    - with a horde of angry monsters that want to kill you from spying on them, I walk straight into a dead end. literally.
    - forgetting to attack. i kill one enemy, then forget to target the next. i just watch the other teammates battle like an idiot.
    - trying to find a town in one direction for hours, only to understand later that wasn't the right way to get there. it wasn't possible.

    Some braveries to save face:
    - being multiple times the guy that survived solely from the team, ressurrecting the monk to bring everyone back. The again, there are some einsteins out there. the monk:"I'm going to attack!". -goes off alone-. me:"wtf? you are a healer, let the warrior do the melee...".
    - with a horde of henchman (NPC's) slaughtered a literally infested area.

So I guess i'll be less on online magic play with OCTGN, and a bit more with GW these days.

    Cheers.
